Abstract
- The article focuses on the representational process of Felix Gonzalez-Torres' practice of giving liquorice candy as a give-away component of his exhibition. The author discusses the significant value of the liquorice candy and expounded its meaning by giving credit to Gonzalez-Torres' act of giving. The author associated the work of Gonzalez-Torres to the statement of Sigmund Freud that giving is a ritual sacrifice, a social rather than a religious phenomenon.
