Abstract

The article presents a case study wherein the combination of 4-methymethcathinone (mephedrone) and heroin caused the accidental death of a 22-year-old male. The autopsy revealed needle marks in the lower legs and ankles of the decedent and detected morphine in the blood and urine samples using gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS). The medical examiner determined the death was caused by accidental multiple-drug toxicity.
