Abstract
- The article presents an update on publishing in Latin America as of March 2010, including a decree that requires all television stations to cover speeches of Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez live in their entirety, the denial by Colombian President Alvaro Uribe of an allegation that his government conducts illegal espionage on journalists, and the acquittal of former Coronel Portillo mayor Luis Valdez Villacorta on charges that he ordered the murder of journalist Alberto Rivera who testified against him on cocaine trafficking charge.
