Abstract

The article highlights virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI), which is a form of desktop virtualization that resembles the server virtualization type which is run by products like VMware vSphere and Citrix XenServer. When organizations run on VDI, desktop operating systems and applications are run on machines located on a server that can be accessed remotely. VDI, which manages distributed desktops, offers the advantage of being cost efficient in the management of physical desktop acquisition and maintenance.
