Developing Voice in New Orleans: The City with the Highest Incarceration Rate in the U.S.

The article offers information about the Students at the Center (SAC) program which aims to enforce a participatory action research method for the provision and exploration of an individual and collective process designed for students affected by incarceration. SAC helps students develop their collective insights on topics and design strategies of writing. It explains that youth voice in youth media offer mediums which makes the students feel their worth in school and communities. Suggestions in the youth media field, such as the inclusion of the classroom teacher and the establishment of programmatic connections in schools and school types, are also presented
