Abstract

The article presents a dialogue between three authors discussing the conditions of the U.S. university system and its dominant institutional and student cultures. The influence of neoliberalism within the curricula of schools and the worldviews of the students is particularly highlighted and discussed. The authors each provide anecdotes and criticism from their own experiences in the academy as theater scholars and teachers, debating between themselves whether such neoliberalism should be pursued or resisted.
