Abstract

The article presents a study which designed a triode-type magnetron injection gun of a 42-gigahert, 200-kilowatt gyrotron for an Indian TOKAMAK system by applying the code EGUN. The gyrotron is an instrument that can produce high powers at very high frequencies. The estimations are carried out to calculate the parameters connected to the cathode, the magnetic field, and the modulating anode voltage. The study is accomplished with the validation of the design by utilizing another code TRAK.
