Abstract

The article presents a study which investigates the activity of CYP199A2 when associated with three hydroxynaphthoic acids. The study uses a synthetic method on dihydroxynaphthoic acids with the use of CYP199A2 as an oxidation biocatalyst. The study also investigates the use of the enzyme in the synthesis of dihydroxynaphthoic acids. Results show that CYP199A2 exhibits an oxidation activity which effectively catalyzed the regioselective oxidation of various dihydroxynaphthoic acids.
