Abstract

The article presents information on the prevalence of Behçet disease in developing countries. The disease is described as a multisystem inflammatory disorder, which can be diagnosed when the presence of iritis, oral ulcers, genital ulcers, eye lesions, skin findings, and a positive pathergy test are noted. It also notes the high prevalence of the disease in several countries, including Turkey, Israel and Iran. The demographic features, diagnosis and clinical features of the disease are discussed.
