Abstract

The article reports on the Falcon 9 rocket which is expected to have its inaugural test flight within the end of May 2010. It says that the rocket will carry the anticipation of National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) for the new generation of low-cost rockets to ship cargo and people in space. It states that the new rocket is the answer to the problem that faces the next generation of space probes due to the retirement of the Delta II rocket. It mentions that the last launch of Delta will be on 2011 for the Gravity Recovery and Interior Laboratory (GRAIL) which is a mission that will study the core of the moon. According to Alan Stern, planetary scientist and former science chief of NASA, the science mission varies on the cost of launching a vehicle.
