Abstract
- In this article the author discusses the use of the term "progressive" in British politics, noting that it has been employed by both Conservative Party members and Liberal Democrats in the 2010 coalition government. The central focus of the article is on the author's contention that concern for the poor, income redistribution and a reduction in social inequality are at the heart of progressiveness.
