Abstract

Human beings have benefited from vaccines for more than two centuries. The development of vaccines continued at a fairly slow rate until the last several decades when new technologies led to an explosion. In recent years appeared new vaccines as varicella vaccine, pneumococcal vaccine, HPV vaccine, rotavirus vaccine. The authors tried to review all current information related to immune prophylaxis in the practice of family medicine The authors carefully analyze the global and national efficacy data for most the main vaccines, the impact on mortality and morbidity. Besides a schematic, scholastic presentation of the national immunization program, the authors also present several recommended vaccinations. Moreover, the paper presents a series of structured vaccination charts analyzing the efficacy, side effects and present and future development for the main vaccines (including latest forecasts and research data).
