Abstract
- The article examines negotiations between the U.S. Department of Defense and the aerospace industry firm Lockheed Martin over costs in the design and construction of the Joint Strke Fighter (JSF), a jet fighter under development by the firm. An increase in the estimates of costs of the program by the department could lead to a reduction in the number of the airplanes ordered when the Congress appropriates funds for the fighter when it enters production.
