The Science Benefits of AIGO—a southern hemisphere interferometric gravitational wave detector.

This paper describes the proposed AIGO detector for the worldwide array of interfero-metric gravitational wave detectors. We summarise the benefits that AIGO provides to the worldwide array of detectors and show that it enables both the angular resolution and the event rate to be improved while also helping to improve the parameter estimation for sources.
