Abstract

The article discusses research on a ribonucleic acid (RNA) therapy which shows that it could be used in treating Ebola virus infection in the future. It references a study by T. W. Geisbert and colleagues published in a 2010 issue of "Lancet." The researchers observed that the RNA therapy protected the monkeys that were given massive dose of Ebola virus. But they emphasized that further research are needed. Also noted are the mortality rates in Africa from hemorrhagic fever caused by the Ebola virus.
