Chemical composition of the leaves of Periploca sepium.

The article presents a study which aims to determine the chemical composition of the leaves of Periploca sepium bage, a species of genus Periploca (Asclepiadaceae) that is common in China. The study used repeated chromatography to the ethyl acetate and n-butanol extracts taken from the powdered leaves of this species to identify their chemical content. Results show that the leaves contain four chemical compounds including oleanolic acid, quercetin and isoquercitrin.
