Abstract
- An experiment was conducted during kharif, 2007 at Agricultural college farm, ANGRAU, Rajendranagar, Hyderabad with 15 popular short and medium duration rice varieties developed for transplanted and rainfed upland situations of Orissa and Andhra Pradesh, and hybrids cultivars of DRR, Hyderabad. Cultivars Naveen, Erramallelu, MTU 1010 and hybrid ARB17 (1) x 06 performed better both under aerobic and transplanted conditions. Rice cultivars received 426 - 570 mm of water under aerobic and 880 - 1057 mm under transplanted condition in addition to 200 and 180 mm of effective rainfall, respectively. The water productivity was higher under aerobic (0.20 to 0.60 kg/m³) than that under transplanted (0.14 to 0.43 kg/ m³ of water) condition. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
