Abstract
- Evaluates the low risk of vertical transmission of hepatitis C virus by breast milk. Use of enzyme immunoassay and strip immunoblot assay for detection of antibodies to HCV; Detection of HCV RNA by reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction analysis; Indication of the study's results that HCV infection in pregnant women is not a contra-indication for breast feeding.
