Abstract
- The article discusses a study on spontaneous adverse events in sitagliptin-associated drug allergy. Approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in October 2006, sitagliptin, a dipeptidyl peptidase-4 inhibitor (DPP-4), is used for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus. From October 16, 2006 to November 24, 2008, 48 reports from the Adverse Event Reports System (AERS) database of the FDA satisfied all predefined criteria for inclusion and exclusion as cases.
