Abstract
- The article discusses a population-based study on the demographic and tumor characteristics of men with breast cancer, compares their treatment based on the published guidelines for women and determines the survival rate of men treated for breast cancer. Men aged 20 and above who were diagnosed with first primary breast cancer from January 1, 2003 to December 31, 2004 were investigated. Most of the men with breast cancer had mastectomy while 60% received hormone therapy. The study provided a unique perspective in the treatment of breast cancer in men.
