Abstract
- The article presents a study which aims to identify retroperitoneal neural structures at risk during vaginal uterosacral ligament suspension suture placement and to calculate neural injury risk. The study used 10 unembalmed female cadavers from the Duke University Medical Center's anatomic gifts program. Results show that the median suture location relative to the ischial spine has no significant difference on suture technique and no nerve entrapment during suture placement using Allis clamps.
