Abstract
- The article discusses a study which examined the national trends in the provision of bariatric surgery and the factors that influence outcome after such surgery in England. The observational population cohort study included all elective patients admitted for bariatric surgery to National Health Service (NHS) in England between April 2000 and April 2008. It was found that there has been an increase in the provision of bariatric surgery and has been introduced safely.
