In this article, the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) chair discusses policy decisions that will impact the profession. These include the coalition government's funding pledge to support the expansion of psychological therapies and the further change on the National Health Service (NHS) landscape with the publication of the White Paper "Equity and Excellence: Liberating the NHS." The lobbying efforts of BACP and its preparation for possible statutory regulation are also cited.
