Abstract
- A novel coplanar equilateral triangular-ring slot antenna with dual frequency operation is proposed for WLAN (Wireless Local Area Network) system in the 2.4/5.2/5.8 GHz operating bands.Impedance matching for both lower and upper operating bands at 2.4 and 5.8 GHz, respectively, are achieved by capacitively loading the inner triangular patch. To excite the 5.2-GHz band, two T-shaped slits are inserted into the triangular patch. The design flow of this antenna is clearly illustrated, and a prototype was constructed and experimentally investigated. Good radiation patterns and stable gain variation are measured for all operating bands. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
