Abstract

The article discusses a study which assessed the factors that facilitate or halt influenza vaccination in pregnant women in Georgia and Rhode Island. The rates of seasonal influenza vaccination among pregnant women were estimated in 2006 and 2007. Study authors found that multiparous women are less likely to receive seasonal influenza vaccine compared to primiparous women. They noted that need to establish strategies to promote seasonal influenza vaccine among pregnant women, and the role of health care providers in enhancing influenza vaccination.
