A EXPERIÊNCIA DE TER SIDO EMPREGADO E A VISÃO DO EMPREENDEDOR.

This study analyzes how professional experience as a formal employee infl uences the development of entrepreneurial vision. The participants in this qualitative research were Brazilians residing in Rio de Janeiro who have gained their Bachelor's degree, and who were employed in organizations for at least five years before becoming managers of their own businesses, either as freelancers, or through outsourcing or through starting their own companies. The results obtained show that while their experience as employees added important learning skills, the working conditions in these former contexts did not always favor the development of skills needed in the new business environment. It was also observed that the motivation for the change resulted, in part, from dissatisfaction with environment they experienced in the organizations where they worked. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
