Abstract

The article presents research on the kinematics of the heavy sprint-style sled pull, a popular event in so-called "strongman" strength training competitions. Video recorders were used to examine test subject participants in the event. It was found that there was more difference in maximum velocity than in acceleration between slow and fast times in the event, suggesting the heavy sled pull could improve sprinting performance if used in training for other sports.
