Abstract

The article discusses the softball pitching motion and recommends an approach to injury prevention. It describes the role of the muscles of the lower extremity during the dynamic movement of the windmill softball pitch. It relates that the incidence of softball injuries is higher than the occurrence of baseball injuries. Information is presented on the phases of the windmill softball pitch. It emphasizes the importance of focusing on the development of a high degree of neuromuscular control of the hips and pelvis in injury prevention.
