Abstract

The article discusses the aspects of organized crime in the Asia-Pacific region which has begun to move away from the mono-ethnic behavior at the end of the Cold War. It mentions that the main adaptation towards the change in organized crime were globalization, technology, the transnational nature of organized crime and the development of new markets. It also highlights the emergence of synthetic drugs in 1990, particularly in Japan, which fell into the hand of the organized Japanese criminals.
