Abstract

In this paper, cooling towers with mist prevention system is presented. Cooling towers with mist prevention system is a hybrid system. In this type of cooling towers, circulation of two separate cooling towers is executed in a single cooling tower. Moreover the single cooling tower includes dry and wet sections and operates as a cooling device. Therefore the designed cooling tower incorporates the properties of both direct-contact and indirect-contact cooling towers. This paper includes studies about cooling towers which work dry and wet in principle. Wet and dry coo ling towers have two sections, the bottom section which has the wet portion and the top section which has the dry portion, the bottom section which has the wet portion and the top section which has the dry portion. The saturated air which enters the bottom of the cooling tower mixes up with the air that is comparatively drier; and this mixture has less saturation point thus the formation of the vapor is prevented.
