The author relates her ideas on collection management. She uses the term collection management in describing the tasks addressing collections once they are acquired as physical entities. The tasks usually include decisions on withdrawing, moving to storage, canceling, repairing and others. In the University of Minnesota, a centralized approach is aimed at managing collections within the context of user needs, local and national digitization initiatives, digitized resources and others.
