Abstract
- The author comments on Great Britain's Law Commission Consultation Paper No. 195, entitled Criminal Liability in Regulatory Contexts, which seeks to restrain the deployment of regulatory criminal law. The highlights of the proposals are described. A discussion on the background of the consultation paper is also included. The author concludes that the commission is strongly of the opinion that criminal law should be used only where there is stigma and that it should not be used to simply to regulate behaviour.
