Abstract
- Fred Wilpon, who said Friday that he was looking to sell a minority stake in the Mets, has been talking to friends and business associates about it for several weeks. He has been unable to find any takers, which prompted him to cast the net wider, according to several sports bankers. Given the concentration of wealthy individuals and companies in New York, and the scarcity of professional teams for sale in the country's largest city, the Mets should find no shortage of potential suitors. A sale, though, depends on what the Mets are willing to sell and under what conditions. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
