Abstract

The article discusses a study which examined the use of a simple ultrasound rules as a triage test to predict the benignity and malignancy in an adnexal mass. The study was conducted in 19 ultrasound centers in eight countries, where women with adnexal mass were examined using ultrasound based on a standardized research protocol. Study authors concluded that simple rules yield conclusive result in approximately 75 percent of adnexal masses.
