Abstract

The article presents a study which examines the prevalence and risk factors of workplace violence (WPV) among 2166 hospital nurses in the U.S. Multivariate logistic regression was utilized using data from an online cross-sectional survey to determine risk factors for physical and psychological WPV. Findings of the study showed that almost one-third of nurses have experienced WPV and that WPV risk factors included being a male nurse, older age, and childhood abuse.
