Abstract
- The article discusses a new smooth polynomial change point model. The authors used data from a population-based longitudinal study of ageing, the Cambridge City over 75 Cohort Study. The study also aimed to identify how individuals many years before death experience a change in the rate of decline in their cognitive ability. They illustrated how the new model together with the Bacon-Watts model can be used as a mixed effects model.
