Abstract

This paper presents some of the contributions found in my master's degree's thesis: "He loves me… He loves me not… Socio-emotional constructions among secondary schools students". This paper was approached from an ethnographic standpoint and it integrates a wider project called "Social relations in middle school" (directed by Mgter. Mónica Maldonado). In this presentation I investigate the circulation of letters among teenage students of a public school to analyze the possibilities of recognition and the conflicts that result from that. The intention is to draw some questions from seemingly "unimportant" matters, related to emotions and feelings, to contribute with some analysis perspective on the construction of social relations in school, both among peers and with the teachers. What can the circulation of letters tell us about the ways of being in school? What does it say to us about the ways of living in school? How does it relate to schooling experiences, to teenage socialization/sociability? I propose to problematize some of these questions, considering the field work and some conceptual contributions that allow new approaches to the subject matter. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
