Abstract

The article reflects on the times when writers wrote with pencils and pens and old typewriters, and focuses on the nature of the changes in the way they write. The author reviews the art of making xerox or carbon copies, cites the Internet for expanding the benefits of digital technology exponentially, and notes how it has replaced the library for most research purposes. She observes how the ease with which writers now research, edit, and market their literary works seems to make their creations less like works of art than digitally processed products.
