U.S. Sounds Alarm on Radiation.

The article discusses the fires at and possible failure of the Fukushima Diiachi nuclear power plant in Japan which was damaged by the earthquake and tsunami which struck that country on March 11, 2011. Expressions of concern about the situation by the U.S., including a recommendation U.S. citizens stay 50 miles or more away from the power plant, are considered. Efforts by Japan's government and an electric utility to end the fires and bring the accident under control are examined.
