Abstract
- The article discusses a randomized study which examined the role of the peroxiredoxin 6 peroxidase in acute lung injury in mice induced by lipopolysaccharide. The study showed that lipopolysaccharide-induced acute lung injury and inflammation are exaggerated by deletion of peroxiredoxin 6. Deletion of peroxiredoxin 6 increased the inflammatory responses, oxidative stress and matrix degradation.
