Abstract
- The article describes an alternative approach of gathering in-depth qualitative accounts and content coding them for statistical analysis, wherein the regression coefficients of workplace ethnographies were introduced into a body of sociological research. It is attested that the merging of qualitative and quantitative approaches in sociology is advancing through methods such as appending comprehensive interviews to surveys. It is further posited that funding requirements for such projects are minimal and students can easily be involved. The authors conclude by discussing other bodies of ethnographic research that are ready for systematic analysis.
