Abstract
- The article notes the author's participation in a conversation at a neighboring table in a restaurant about an English myth. The groupthink and panic resulting from the prediction of a flood in 1524, which did not occur and was described in Charles Mackay's "Extraordinary Popular Delusions and the Madness of Crowds" is discussed. An urban myth in London, England is mentioned.
