Abstract

The article discusses the concept of self-instrumented/sensor-enabled geosynthetics and its applicability in geosynthetics engineering. It notes that the sensor-enabled geosynthetics (SEG) was developed and their conductive and tensile strength properties were determined by performing four series of tests. It further states that the seasonal variation of moisture content in soil may raise questions about the influences of water on the electrical conductivity of SEG materials.
