Abstract
- The purpose of this study is to explore college students' computer attitudes regarding the use of blogs. The computer attitude survey included four factors: computer anxiety, computer confidence, computer liking, and computer usefulness. The subject for investigation consisted of 134 college students at a technical university in central Taiwan. The findings indicated that male students had higher confidence and lower anxiety scores than female students and participants who had personal web design experience reported significantly lower computer anxiety and higher computer confidence than those who did not have such experience. There was a significant variance in the length of time blogs were used and results demonstrated that students who spent more time blogging were more likely to have positive perceptions on computer usefulness. Most importantly, participants appeared to have developed optimistic attitudes toward computer usefulness based upon the amount of valuable information they had acquired from others' blogs.
