Abstract

The article presents an analysis of the Suez Crisis of 1956. Events surrounding the invasion of Egypt by the coalition of France, Great Britain and Israel are presented, including the U.S. pressure to the United Nations (U.N.) General Assembly which voted for a cease-fire in November 1. It also discusses various weaknesses in the military operations of both Egypt and the tri-country coalition.
