Abstract
- The article presents a study which determines whether optimum versus suboptimal cytoreductive surgery predicts cancer antigen 125 (CA125) levels two weeks after surgery. It states that cytoreductive surgery is a crucial component of primary treatment in patients with ovarian epithelial cancer (OEC). It notes that postoperative CA125 significantly decreased in two weeks after tumor cytoreduction in patients with OEC, but its regression did not differ to optimal or suboptimal groups.
