Abstract

The article presents a case study on how De Jour Sanitary Products founder Katrina Allen succeeded with her tampon business. Allen attributes her decision to leave her job as a graphic designer and the creative director at advertising agency M&C Saatchi to being fed up with the bright, floral designs of most sanitary products. She later hired a graphic designer to create three business concepts. Allen also gives credit to her bookkeeper Danielle Speck, who has work with her for 12 years, for playing a vital role in their business success.
