Abstract
- The case of Góngora's romance "Entre los sueltos caballos," extensively quoted in El príncipe constante of Calderón, is exceptional due to the magnitude of the quotation, without equal among the verses of other poets included in Calde-ronian comedies. This paper studies in detail the ways in which Calderón adapted this romance to the circumstances of his comedy, also resolving the question of which versión of Góngora's romance the Madrid playwright knew.
