Abstract
- A literary criticism of the 1807 edition of the book "The Poetical Works of Geoffrey Chaucer" is presented. According to the author, the unknown editor of this edition made several important changes to the order and sometimes the content of the poems with the goal of establishing a canon of Chaucer's authentic works. Topics discussed include the editor's preface and his use of an edition of "The Canterbury Tales" by Geoffrey Chaucer, edited by Thomas Tyrwhitt.
