Abstract

The article describes the author's experience of developing her career from a teacher to a school librarian at George Jackson Academy in New York City. According to the author, being a librarian is critical since it allows her to reach a wider group, be connected to the community, and focus on integrated learning. She further emphasizes that it is important for librarians to learn how to access information efficiently to develop independent library patrons and help them enhance learning.
